Investigation concludes into virtual classroom intrusion

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board has conducted an internal investigation after inappropriate material was shared with students online but police will not be looking into the matter further.

The school board previously told Blackburn News that three incidents were reported at two Sarnia schools after someone entered virtual classroom meetings and shared inappropriate material.

Sarnia police were contacted about the incidents but said at this time, there is not sufficient evidence to further the investigation.

The school board and police have not confirmed who was responsible for the intrusion. Meantime, Director of Education Deborah Crawford said administrative, educational, and support staff involved in virtual learning have received additional training following the incidents.

Crawford said the school board remains committed to providing the safest possible online learning environment for students and staff.
