Sarnia-Lambton COVID vaccination rate nearing 70 per cent

The active COVID-19 case count in Sarnia-Lambton has dropped to one.

In its daily update Wednesday, Lambton Public Health reported the number of confirmed cases went down by one to 3,638. The health unit also reported one more resolved case up to 3,569.

The death toll is unchanged at 68 and there are no active outbreaks of the virus.

The incidence rate per 100,000 population increased to 3.8 for the week of July 25 to 31, from 3.1 the week before.

Lambton Public Health said 68.4 per cent of eligible adults are fully vaccinated, and 15.2 per cent of youth aged 0 to 17-years-old have had both shots of a vaccine.

Bluewater Health had no COVID-positive patients in hospital.
