Restoration work underway at Wawanosh Wetland

The South Trail Loop at Wawanosh Wetland Conservation Area in Sarnia will be temporarily closed for restoration work.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority (SCRCA) said the trail, located on Blackwell Sideroad, will be closed until further notice as of Monday, May 9.

“High usage and wet conditions over the past two years have caused the trail to deteriorate,” said Manager of Conservation Areas Greg Wilcox in a statement. “We ask that visitors respect the trail closure to allow the grass an opportunity to get established.”

However, outdoor enthusiasts will still be able to enjoy the northern portion of the property during the closure.
