The Seaway Kiwanis Club’s new log cabin at Canatara Park will officially be unveiled on Saturday during a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
A grand opening is scheduled to take place on May 14 at 10:30 a.m.
Ken Stothers, co-chair of the Seaway Kiwanis Club's log cabin project, said Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley and Point Edward Mayor Bev Hand will attend the event.
A time capsule, which will be opened in 50 years, will also be incorporated into the log cabin ceremony.
"Of course there's a letter from the mayor that's going in [the time capsule] and a few items from various club members," said Stothers. "Interestingly enough, we think it's important to put in a mask because of the COVID history."
Stothers said the club will also showcase a new little library, beside the cabin, made to look like the Animal Farm Barn.

The long-awaited official opening was pushed to this spring.
"The project has taken us longer in the planning stages than it did in construction," chuckled Stothers. "But the support from the community has just been fantastic."
The Kiwanis Animal Farm Foundation and the Norman & Judith Alix Foundation paid for the materials, while several individual volunteers and local companies also contributed to the process.
The log cabin will be used for the annual Christmas At The Farm event, Halloween At The Farm, as well as weddings and other special occasions.
