Area businesses vying for title of main 'Squeeze'

Local businesses are competing for the title of best lemonade.

It's the 2nd annual 'Big Squeeze' Wednesday in support of Big Brothers/Big Sisters Sarnia-Lambton.

"The Big Squeeze is a citywide, well countywide this year, lemonade stand competition between local businesses," said summer student and spokesperson Morgan Farr. "So a business will  put on their own lemonade stand  and sell their lemonade or whatever else they would like, and the proceeds will come back and help us here with our youth mentoring program."

Farr said the event has certainly grown since its inception in 2019 when around 18 businesses participated, to over 30 this year.

"It will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., but certain businesses due to their opening hours will be extending the time frame," she said.

In 2019, Shell Corunna raised the most funds, $1,002, and best lemonade was awarded to KKP, now Riverside Print and Signs.

A list of participating businesses, as well as a map with their locations, is posted on Big Brothers/Big Sisters Instagram and Facebook pages.
