Local conservation area temporarily closing for upgrades

Significant upgrades are happening at the Wawanosh Wetland Conservation Area in Sarnia.

The property will be closed to the public for one to two weeks, starting on Monday August 9.

Crews will be upgrading and resurfacing the north loop trail with stone dust, and heavy equipment will be on-site and operating during construction.

The closure will result in over 1,225 metres of trail being enhanced to extend the life of the trail system and improve accessibility.

The south loop was upgraded back in May.

The St. Clair Region Conservation Authority recently received approximately $250,000 to go ahead with projects in the Sarnia, Middlesex, and Strathroy regions.
