Earthquake felt in parts of Lambton

Earthquakes Canada has confirmed that a 2.44 magnitude tremor shook parts of Lambton County on Sunday.

The federal agency said the event took place across the St. Clair River in Michigan at around 11:30 a.m. (4:30 p.m. UTC) but it could be felt in areas such as Corunna and Mooretown.

Earthquakes Canada is currently collecting information from residents who felt it. A survey questionnaire can be filled out online.

Comments made on Volcano Discovery said weak shaking could be felt along with sounds similar to thunder.

"A big bang and then the house shook like something was coming down on the roof," read one comment.
