Petrolia Community Fund doles out $9K in grants

Four organizations in Petrolia have received a funding boost to help with their charitable initiatives.

The Petrolia Community Fund, in partnership with the Sarnia Community Foundation, recently announced grant recipients.

Petrolia Community Refrigerator was given $3,000 to purchase equipment. The organization allows those in need to access food and other personal items.

Literacy Lambton received $2,500 to promote reading through a Train Your Brain program for Grade 3 and Grade 4 students.

Sarnia Lambton Rebound was given $2,000 to host a family movie night at a park in Petrolia.

Lastly, YMCA Petrolia was given a grant of $1,500 to purchase a mesh wheelchair to lift a person in and out of the pool.

The Petrolia Community Fund was established in November 2012.
