River City Vineyard hosts open house

River City Vineyard (RCV) is opening its doors to the public for people to see the work being done on its shelter expansion.

A community open house will be held on Saturday, February 25, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.

"We want the community to be able to come and view the progress that we've been making on the shelter expansion over the last couple of years," said Worship Pastor Renee Card. "To be able to tour the facility and ask any questions if they have any."

"Our local community, we know that they are as excited as we are to see the doors open."

Card said they are still hoping to have a "slow-open" at the Sarnia shelter by the end of March.

"We're certainly going to open the women's side first and just do a slow opening as staff, finances, and resources permit. We'll continue to open more beds as we can," Card said.

The open house will be held a few hours before Coldest Night of the Year takes place. Habitat for Humanity Sarnia-Lambton and RCV are both hosting CNOY walks this year.

RCV is located at the intersection of Mitton Street North and Maria Street.
