Five local students have qualified for the Canada Wide Science Fair following this weekend's Lambton County Science Fair.
Those heading to the national event in Edmonton next month include Muhammad Mustafa Arif, Riley Edmunds, Cynthia Rayson, Kodie Ozumba and Safia Deol.
Lambton Science Fair spokesperson Peter Smith said they had a very successful science fair again this year, the first in the new Lambton College gymnasium.
Major prizes included Cyndi Rayson for Best in Fair for "Bioremediation to the Rescue", Rayson also won Best Junior. Best Senior went to Safia Deol for "The IncrediGels: Multifaceted Biopolymers for Dental Routines", and Kayleigh Edmunds took home Best Exhibition for "Curiosity Killed the Cat".
The event showcased a wide range of projects done by students between Grade 3 and Grade 12.
