Sarnia Fire and Rescue says a woman in her 80s died in a fire at an apartment building on Afton Drive Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded to an alarm at Woodstone Apartments on April 9 at around 11:40 a.m. There was light smoke discovered in the main floor hallway of the five-storey building.
The fire was contained to furniture in the living room of one of the units, and was quickly brought under control.
The Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire, which is not believed to be suspicious or criminal in nature.
No firefighters were injured, and the damage is estimated to be around $100,000.
