WAMBO celebrates 35 years

Antique boats, cars, motorcycles and fire trucks will be taking over downtown Wallaceburg this weekend.

The Wallaceburg Antique Motor and Boat Outing (WAMBO) kicks off Friday and runs through Sunday.

Boats will be arriving along the Sydenham River all day long on Friday, and opening ceremonies are set for 5 p.m.

Chairman Bill Wolsing said they're expecting double the amount of boats this year.

The Knights of Columbus are hosting a BBQ with live music on Friday, and there is the Terry Glover Memorial Cruise to Wallaceburg and back.

On Saturday, the classic cars and motorcycles will be lined up on James St. and the Knights of Columbus will be serving up breakfast.

The fire truck show will be along Wallace St. and the Canadian Armed Forces will have a display, while on the south side of the river there will be vendors, and activities for the kids, including soap box racing.

There will be live music all day on the main stage in the James St. municipal parking lot before it all wraps up on Sunday with an Interdenominational church service.
