Sarnia's Pat Stapleton Arena will be closed for several weeks as crews undertake emergency electrical repairs at the downtown rink.
The city said there was a malfunction with the electrical panel servicing the chiller units for the ice surface early on Thursday, September 5.
As a result, the panel has to be replaced before the facility can re-open for the season.
Work is underway, however an exact timeline has not been established.
In the interim, the city is working with ice user groups to ensure they are accommodated and supported during the closure.
They're apologizing for any inconvenience.
The Sarnia Legionnaires were forced to cancel their first two home games of the GOJHL hockey season, September 12 and 19.
A post on their Facebook page said they're hoping to be back on home ice Thursday, September 26.
