Community raising funds to support shooting victim's family

A GoFundMe with the goal of $100K to cover funeral costs and memorial expenses has been started to raise funds after the tragic death of Dane Nisbet.

The 20-year-old was the victim of a shooting at Lambton College last Friday.

Hundreds of people have come together to donate.

"Dane was someone who brought light into the lives of everyone around him," read the GoFundMe page. "Whether it was their kindness, their sense of humour, or the way they always showed up for others, they made a lasting impact that will never be forgotten."

Nisbet was a well-known hockey player in the community. He suited up for the Lambton Jr. Sting U16 and U18 teams, the Mooretown Flags, Sarnia Legionnaires, and the North Middlesex Stars.

The fund thanks the community for its kindness, support, and for helping honour Dane’s memory.

If you are unable to donate, you are asked to please share the fundraiser to help reach as many people as possible.
