It's Bridge Bash this weekend in Point Edward.
Several events were planned to take place outside the community centre on Monk Street on Saturday.
But, Point Edward Optimist Club President Rob Oberholzer said they will no longer go ahead with the fun zone and live outdoor music.
"We want to inform the public that the outdoor events at Bridge Bash have been cancelled because of the air quality problems," said Oberholzer. "We just don't want to put anybody in harm's way."
The indoor portion of Bridge Bash is going ahead as scheduled.
"We have three live bands: Live Wire, Travis Laur Trio, and A Million Ghosts," said Oberholzer.
There is a $20 cover charge at the door, which opens at 7 p.m.
Attendees must be 19 years of age or older.
Oberholzer said "in its heyday" Bridge Bash used to attract between 1,000 and 1,200 people when it was held outdoors, under the Blue Water Bridge.
"We're slowly rebuilding. We've [spent] three years inside the hall trying to rebuild so we can get back down under the bridge. Hopefully, next year... that's what we're gearing for anyway," he said.
Proceeds from the event will support youth and community service programs.
