Sarnian Charged In 2011 Attempted Bank Robbery

A Sarnia man is facing attempted robbery charges after an incident dating back almost three years.

Oxford County OPP say on November 8, 2011 a man walked into the Bank of Montreal branch in Ingersoll.

Police say he approached the teller and demanded cash before fleeing on foot with no money.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The Oxford County OPP Crime Unit arrested 35-year-old Jacob Bondy of Sarnia Sunday.

He's charged with robbery with intent and using a disguise with intent.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
