Central Sarnia Structure Fire

Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services responded to a structure fire at James St. and London Rd. Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to 107 James St. just before 8:30am.

It appeared the blaze started in the garage of the fourplex and spread to two units.

All occupants made it out safely and no injuries were reported.

Damage is said to be extensive although no estimate was immediately available.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
