Torch Relay Coming To Sarnia

You could have the opportunity to be a torchbearer for the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto.

Chris Hadfield has been named the first honourary torchbearer. The torch relay will make its way through Sarnia next spring.

Recreation Coordinator Ryan Chamney says you can submit your name online at www.toronto2015.org

Chamney says there is a tentative date in June but it has yet to be finalized.

The nomination deadline is December 1.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
