Suncor Wind Project Appeal Being Heard

An appeal of Suncor's Cedar Point wind turbine project is underway.

An Environmental Review Tribunal hearing was set to begin at 10am Wednesday morning at the Camlachie Community Centre. It's scheduled to continue through Friday and again next Monday and Tuesday, and the week of December 15.

The County of Lambton, Plympton-Wyoming and the Bryce family are appealing the approval of Suncor's 46 turbine project in Plympton-Wyoming, Lambton Shores and Warwick Township.

Thursday the hearing was scheduled to relocate to the county council chambers in Wyoming where testimony from an expert witness from Portugal by video is to be heard.

A decision by the tribunal is expected no later than early March of next year.

Late last month the tribunal dismissed an appeal of NextEra Energy's 92-turbine project under construction in Lambton Shores and Warwick Township.
