Driver Charged In Fiery Crash

Sarnia police have charged a 25-year-old man with careless driving following a single-vehicle collision on Confederation St. Wednesday morning.

Police say the man was driving eastbound near Telfer Side Rd. when he lost control of his vehicle, which then rolled, struck a hydro pole and caught fire around 11am.

The man, who was the lone occupant, was able to get out of the vehicle and only suffered minor injuries.

The crash closed Confederation St. between Telfer Side Rd. and Blackwell Side Rd. for four hours as Bluewater Power repaired the hydro pole.

The man's name has not been released.
