Sarnia's latest building permit figures indicate a fall surge in construction activity.
A year-high 71 permits were issued from city hall in October with a total value of nearly $7.7-million.
The year-to-date total is close to $62.9-million now and for the first time in some six months has moved ahead of 2013's cumulative total through ten months of $60-million.
New housing construction remains strong. 22 permits were issued last month for single family dwellings, by far the best monthly total of 2014 to date.
The year-to-date total of 116 is far ahead of the 78 through October 2013.
