Teen Charged In Hydro Pole Crash

A male teen is charged after the pickup truck he was driving hit a hydro pole on Exmouth St. at Murphy Rd. late Tuesday morning.

The pole remained standing but was damaged at the base.

Minor injuries were reported.

Police say the 17-year-old driver was eastbound on Exmouth shortly after 11am when the crash occurred.

He's been charged with careless driving.

Police, fire and EMS all responded.

Exmouth St. was closed for a short stretch from Murphy Rd. to Carr St. while Bluewater Power crews repaired the damaged pole.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
