Update: Angel Back On Display

Sarnia's Celebration of Lights has suffered a thoughtless act of vandalism.

Spokesperson Cathie Blake says a big angel from one of the displays was thrown into the St. Clair River Monday night.

Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services says the display was retrieved this morning from Sarnia Bay and is back on display at the park.

Blake urges anyone with information about the incident to contact Sarnia police or Crime Stoppers.

She says perhaps someone in a nearby high rise apartment noticed something suspicious.

The 30th annual event kicks off Friday. Opening ceremonies are at 6pm with the lights scheduled to come on at 7:30pm sharp.
