Operation Christmas Tree Launch

The Moore Optimist Club's annual Operation Christmas Tree launches today with the poor boy luncheon at the Royal Canadian Legion in Corunna.

Project Chair Fred Strickland says residents can get hot dogs, beans, a drink and dessert for a donation.

He says it's a great way to kick off the annual campaign that supplies hampers for the needy in St.Clair Township over the Christmas season.

Strickland says donations of food, toys and money are being collected at the Emergency Services building at the corner of Hill and Lyndoch St. They can be dropped off from 9am until 3pm five days a week beginning Monday.

Gift hampers will be distributed by St. Clair Township Fire and the Knights of Columbus Saturday, December 20.
