Sting Ceremony Honours World Junior Players

Prior to its game against Saginaw Sunday afternoon, the Sarnia Sting is honouring alumni that have taken part in World Jr. Hockey Championships.

The team is raising a banner with names including Trevor Letowski, Steven Stamkos, Alex Galchenyuk, Connor Murphy, Dan Fritsche and Ludvig Rensfeldt.

Sting President Bill Abercrombie looks forward to the ceremony.

Abercrombie says the first 1,000 fans through the door will receive a collectable World Jr. Champions hockey card.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
