Lambton Corn Harvest Behind Schedule

Combines were out bright and early Wednesday morning, trying to get corn crops off the fields.

Lambton Federation of Agriculture spokesman Kevin Marriott says up to 70 per cent of the corn is still in the ground, something not seen this late in the year since 1992.

While Marriott says yields have not yet started to suffer, a foot of wet, heavy snow could drag things down.

Marriott adds Monday's gale force weeks resulted in some field loss throughout parts of the county.
