Lambton OPP Officers Injured In Altercation

A Warwick Township man is facing charges following an altercation with police.

Lambton OPP were called to a family disturbance call around 10pm Tuesday.

Constable Todd Monaghan says two officers responded to a home in the 7000-block of Birnam Line in Warwick Township. He says during the course of the investigation, one man became involved in a physical confrontation with the responding officers.

Both officers were injured and one was taken to hospital for treatment and released.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault with intention to resist arrest, resisting a peace officer and failing to comply with undertaking.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday for a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
