New Pipeline Proposed

Union Gas has applied to the Ontario Energy Board to build a new natural gas pipeline in St Clair Township to meet future demand in the Sarnia area.

Spokesperson Andrea Stass says the $25-million project first needs approval from the Ontario Energy Board.

She says the five kilometre line would run along roadway right-of-ways along Ladysmith Rd. and Rokeby Line.

Stass says if all goes as planned, and there are no objections, work on the 20 in pipeline would begin in the spring with product flowing by late fall.
