Sarnia Council Inaugural Meeting Today

The new Sarnia Council for the next four years will be sworn in this morning. (Mon)

Three newcomers will be introduced into the mix.

Brian White topped the polls for lower tier city councillor in the October 28 election with incumbent Mike Kelch second.

Cindy Scholten and Matt Mitro claimed seats in their first try.

The city-county seats were won by incumbents Anne Marie Gillis, Bev MacDougall, Andy Bruziewicz and Dave Boushy.

Long time councillors Jim Foubister and Terry Burrell were defeated.

The inaugural meeting of the 2014-2018 Sarnia City Council will be held at 11am in Council Chambers.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
