Teens Charged In Weekend Incidents

A teenage boy faces charges after Sarnia police investigated reports of a shotgun being discharged from a porch.

Police responded just before 10pm Sunday to a Tashmoo Ave. home and seized a 12 gauge shotgun.

Charges against a 17-year-old male include weapons dangerous and careless use of a firearm.

Around 11pm Saturday police stopped a girl riding a bike on East St. for not having a light.  It was discovered she was on probation and during a search of her backpack police allegedly found a small amount of crystal methamphetamine and a knife.

The 16-year-old girl was charged with possession of a controlled substance, and a prohibited weapon, as well as two counts of breaching her probation.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
