Computer Problems Felt Locally

Sarnia-Lambton is not immune to problems with Ontario's new $240-million system that sends out welfare and disability cheques.

The system queued up more that $20-million in overpayments last week, some locally.

County of Lambton Ontario Works Manager Jane Dalziel says clients who have received the payments in error are being contacted.

Dalziel believes the new computer system will eventually be more efficient, giving case workers a better chance to work one on one with clients.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
