It's Giving Tuesday

More than two dozen charities have joined forces for a homegrown take on "Giving Tuesday".

Bluewater Health Foundation spokesperson Anita Minielly says 26 charities including St. Joseph's Hospice and the Inn of the Good Shepherd, will split the funds equally.

It's an on-line movement that began two years ago in the States.

To participate, you can donate $5 to $25 by texting "SLgives" to 20-222 and have the amount tagged onto your monthly phone bill.

There is no charge for the text.

It's hoped $100,000 is raised in the groups' first attempt on Giving Tuesday.
