Emergency Simulation Exercise Today

Sarnia city officials are taking part in a provincially-mandated emergency simulation exercise at 10am today.

The group is comprised of the fire chief, police chief, city manager, mayor, health unit and other agencies.

Mayor Mike Bradley says the annual paper training session is beneficial.

Bradley says emergencies like a tornado, Ebola outbreak or train derailment could be discussed.

He says it'll ensure everyone is on the same page in case of a real crisis.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
