Imperial Completing Planned Maintenance

Imperial Oil says it's completing planned maintenance work at its Sarnia manufacturing site.

The coker unit and CO boiler are being restarted and the public may notice darker than normal stack emissions occasionally and temporary use of the flare system.

Imperial says flaring is an environmentally sound measure to safely combust hydrocarbon material from processing units so work can be carried out safely on equipment.
