The grade 11 student is maintaining an 82.5 per cent average across four courses at Northern Collegiate including university level math and chemistry courses.
The 6'2", 194 lb defenseman was taken first overall by the Sting in this year's OHL Priority Selection.
Chychrun has been nursing an upper body injured and is expected to return to the Sting lineup within a couple of weeks.
