Sting Streak Snapped At Six

The Sarnia Sting's six game winning streak was snapped by the Spirit in Saginaw Saturday night.

Dylan Sadowy had two goals and an assist to lead the Spirit to a 5-2 win at the Dow Event Centre.

The Sting was unable to maintain the momentum from one of its strongest performances of the year Friday night at home to North Bay.

Saginaw took a 2-0 first period lead and never looked back.

Sarnia twice cut the lead to one with goals by Daniel Nikandrov (8) in the second and Pavel Zacha (8) in the third on the power play. It was Zacha's first game back after a six game suspension.

Anthony DeAngelo had an assist and leads the OHL in scoring by defensemen with 30 points in 24 games. He's tied for the Sting scoring lead with Nikita Korostelev who also picked up an assist in Saturday's loss.

The Sting outshot the Spirit 30-27. Rookie goaltender Justin Fazio took the loss against veteran Saginaw netminder Jake Paterson.

Despite the loss, the Sting has an impressive 8-2 record in its last ten games.
