Drug Raids At Home And Storage Locker

A Sarnia residence and a storage locker in Point Edward were raided in a significant drug bust Thursday afternoon.

At about 3:40pm, the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit and COPPS Unit executed two warrants, one at a residence in the 600-block of Indian Rd. and the other at a storage locker in the village.

60 g of methamphetamine was seized with a street value of about $7,000, 400 morphine pills valued at $6,000, 76 g of marijuana, as well as smaller quantities of magic mushrooms and cannabis resin.

The total street value of the drugs seized is nearly $14,000.

Police say almost $3,000 in Canadian currency and $170 in American funds were also seized.

A 49-year-old male and 22-year-old female face possession and trafficking charges and were being held for bail hearings.

A 26-year-old female was released after being charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
