Legionnaires Crash Lincolns

The Sarnia Legionnaires (21-8-0) defeated the last place St. Marys Lincolns (2-24-2) 3-2 in GOJHL play Thursday night. The victory marks Sarnia's fourth in five contests.

Davis Boyer led the way for the Legionnaires with a goal and two assists and now has a league leading 50 points on the season. Cody Trowell and Riley Babkirk each picked up a goal and an assist for Sarnia.

Jake Alkins and Sean O'Brien each scored for the Lincolns who have a league-worst 50 goals this year.

The game got heated in the third period as Bobby King and Jordan Winter were each kicked out of the game for fighting.

Legionnaires goalie Cornel Felder made 29 saves on 31 Lincolns shots while Sarnia fired 32 shots on goal.

Sarnia is back in action Thursday, December 18 at home to the St. Thomas Stars.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
