Full House Expected At Sarnia Harbour This Winter

A full house is anticipated at Sarnia Harbour this winter.

Sarnia Economic Development and Corporate Planning Director Peter Hungerford says vessel repair and maintenance pumps hundreds of thousands of dollars into the local economy.

The city took over operation of the harbour from Transport Canada March 29 with about 30 ships loading or unloading at the Cargill grain elevators.

The St. Lawrence Seaway says overall cargo totals will finish ahead of last year when the system closes New Year's Eve.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
