Police Bust Meth, Cocaine Drug Trafficking Ring

Thirty-three people have been charged in a large drug bust covering Huron, Perth and Lambton counties.

The OPP's Project Pinecreek started to gather evidence of illegal drug trafficking in 2012 and escalated in July of 2014.

Over $120,000 worth of drugs was seized during the investigation including 46 lbs of marijuana, 132 g of cocaine and 21 oz of methamphetamine.

Huron County OPP Commander Chris Martin says it's a significant seizure for the region.

Weapons were also seized including three rifles, a sawed off shotgun and butterfly knife.

$22,000 worth of stolen property was recovered including an ATV and motorcycle.

Of the 33 people charged, 27 are from Huron County. 24-year-old Kendra Perriam, 40-year-old Michael Danna, 31-year-old Benjamin Bervoets and 37-year-old Selina Powell of Lambton all face drug trafficking related charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
