By-law Department Merges

Sarnia's by-law departments are now one division.

City Director of Planning and Building Jane Cooper says the change was official on Friday.

She says the move will help the city realize greater efficiencies in response time and operations.

Residents can now contact one division for any bylaw issues including parking infractions, unsafe buildings, animal licensing and property standards.

Staff will operate out of the Sarnia Parking Authority building on Wellington St.

Cooper says over the past few months staff have been cross-trained in other departments, for seamless enforcement service.
