2014, A Record Year For Real Estate

Sarnia-Lambton real estate sales hit an all time high in 2014, getting close to the $400-million mark.

1847 properties sold with a dollar value of nearly $394-million, an increase of 13 per cent.

Real Estate Board President Jane Baker expects the upward trend to continue.

Baker says the unprecedented numbers are the result of low interest rates and confidence in the local economy.

134 properties sold last month, up 11 per cent from December 2013.

The average sale price for 2014 was $217,000, compared to $204,000 the previous year.
