Driver Charged With Impaired, Again

A 29-year-old Sarnia man is charged with impaired driving, his second impaired offence in the last three months.

Police say a vehicle was leaving a drive thru on London Rd. last night when an officer spotted it speeding in a parking lot. The driver failed to stop for the officer who activated his emergency lights in his cruiser.

The officer followed the vehicle to a driveway on Tweedsmuir Ave. where the suspect was arrested.

During the investigation it was discovered the man had been charged just three months ago for impaired driving and had been released on conditions to abstain from alcohol and not drive a motor vehicle.

It's alleged the suspect blew over three times the legal limit at police headquarters.

He's now charged with impaired driving, driving over the legal limit, disqualified driving and two counts of violating his release. He was being held for a bail hearing.
