Petrolia Chimney Fire

There was an early morning chimney fire in Petrolia.

Firefighters were called to a home in the 5700-block of Petrolia Line just before midnight.

Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Chief Lawrence Swift says the blaze was brought under control by 3am.

Wyoming volunteer firefighters were also called.

Damage is estimated at $30,000.

No injuries were reported and all occupants made it out of the home safely.

Swift reminds homeowners to have their chimney professionally inspected and cleaned to avoid the risk of fire.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
