Pig Abandoned At Children's Animal Farm

The Sarnia and District Humane Society is appealing for help to find the owner of a pot bellied pig, abandoned at the Children's Animal Farm at Canatara Park Monday night.

Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Agent Becky Knight believes the pig, described as being in poor physical health, was shoved under a fence.

She says the animal has scapes on his back and his hooves were left unattended and have overgrown to the point where he can no longer stand.

Knight believes the 200 lb pig, which they've since named Jack Frost, is four or five years old and was a house pet.

She says he's been given pain medication and is receiving proper grooming to address his overgrown hooves.

Anyone with information on the animal is asked to call the Sarnia and District Humane Society.
