Sting Deal DeAngelo To Hounds

The Sarnia Sting has dealt star defenceman Anthony DeAngelo to the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds for rookie forward Anthony Salinitri, second round picks in 2015 and 2017, and a fourth round pick in 2018.

Sting GM Nick Sinclair sees Salinitri playing a key role on the team in the years to come.

Sinclair says it wasn't easy to deal DeAngelo.

DeAngelo had 190 points in 210 games in his career in Sarnia. He led all OHL defencemen with 71 points last season.

Salinitri had seven points in limited ice time this season with the Hounds.

The OHL's trade deadline is Friday.
