Fire caused significant damage to a new home on Glen Abbey Dr. in Sarnia Monday morning.

City fire department investigator Rick London says it started in the basement on a wall near some electrical wires.

He says he can't say for sure the cause was electrical so it's been listed as undetermined.

Damage to the home and contents is estimated at $200,000.

Two occupants in the home were awake when the fire was discovered around 5:30am-6am.

They got out safely.

Fire officials say the home's smoke alarms sounded.
