Shelters Busy During Cold Snap

Sarnia's Inn of the Good Shepherd has made out ok during the latest cold snap.

Executive Director Myles Vanni says residents were very generous from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

He says food bank supplies remain in good shape.

Vanni says the youth shelter on Kathleen St., which has nine beds, has been full the past few months.

While about 16 people have been at the adult and family shelter, the Good Shepherds Lodge on  Confederation St., each night.

He says it can house about 25 people a night.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
