Atelka Holds Job Fair

Atelka is holding a job fair Friday and Saturday.

Canada's largest independent contact centre has been in Sarnia less than a year and is looking to increase its workforce.

The company has a job fair scheduled from 11am to 7pm Friday and Saturday from 10am-6pm at the Western Research Park on Modeland Rd.

Atelka announced in October of 2014 it was expanding its local workforce of about 200 to over 400 by March of this year.

Atelka started taking calls on behalf of its major telecommunications client, Rogers, in early April.

The company is in the first year of a ten-year lease at the research park.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
