Alzheimers A Risk To Women

The Sarnia-Lambton Alzheimer Society is focusing on educating about the risks for women as part of Alzheimer Awareness Month.

Education Coordinator Christine Wright says their statistics show that 72% of people in Canada affected by the disease, are women.

Wright says its a good idea to be checked out by your doctor if you feel changes occurring. She says symptoms could be treatable or serve as a warning sign of alzheimers or another form of dementia.

Wright says early detection can provide time to plan your future.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
